There are several excellent ways to visit Hawaii.  Most common is to fly round trip from the mainland, then either cruise, stay at one or more islands, or best yet, combine a cruise vacation with a land package.

We have a combination of personal observations and travel advise for Hawai'i, along with links to allow travelers to book directly online.

Some VERY basic info is on this home page.  Please use the links on the left of this page for detailed information about the Islands, cruise and vacation options, photos, and much more!

NCL America - 7 Night Cruises round trip Honolulu

Probably the best option for those who want to maximize time in port.  NCL America sails large, modern cruise ships.  US flagged, US crewed, no foreign port call is required. This eliminates the 3 days in transit to Fanning Island that formerly was required for round trip sailings from Honolulu (although for those wanting 10-11 night sailings, Norwegian Cruise Line will still offer the Fanning Island cruise).  Port calls of over 24 hours in Kauai and Maui, with 2 port calls on the Big Island.  Roughly 96 hours in port, the ship provides ample time to comfortably see the sights, enjoy the beaches, cuisine, and more.  Unpack and pack only once during the week!  Service crew is anchored by Hawaiian’s, giving NCL America true Aloha Spirit!  Currently there are 2 US flagged ships cruising Hawaii, the "Pride of Aloha" and the newer, larger "Pride of America".  Both ships have been joined during June 2006 by the new "Pride of Hawaii" - the largest passenger ship to EVER fly the American Flag!

For an outstanding Hawaiian experience, add 2 days or more in O'ahu.  We suggest the pre-cruise hotel options offered by NCL in Waikiki.  NCL check-in Kiosk or office is available at the Marriott Waikiki, which means your bags can depart from the Marriott and head straight to your stateroom.  Other hotel options are also available.  Post-cruise packages are also available, both on Oahu and other islands.  While these packages can be booked online on this website, please give us a call for advise on which hotel or resort best fits your price range and needs.

If given a choice, we recommend that our clients arrive early in Honolulu, and take advantage of one of the Pre-cruise packages offered.  Why?  Many potential visitors think that Oahu means Waikiki, yet O’ahu is the heart of all Hawai’I,  and offers so much more.  Among other things, arriving a few days early will allow passengers to visit the museums and cultural centers that will give them a better understanding of the history and culture of all Hawaiian islands.  Please see our “Oahu” pages on this website for more information, written by our own certified Oahu Destination Specialist!

  • Cruises from West Coast round trip to Hawaii

If you do not want to fly, or love lots of sea days, you have several round trip options from the West Coast.  Princess sails 15 day cruises from Los Angeles from fall to spring.  The “Island Princess” will cruise to Hawaii from fall through early spring.  Holland America sails 15 & 16 day cruises from San Diego.  Sea time averages about 8-9 days, with a week in the islands.  Ports of call are similar.

  • Cruise one way, fly the other way

Cruises from Hawaii to the mainland, and from the mainland to Hawaii are available for those wanting to sail one-way and fly back.  Generally these cruises include 5 to 7 days sailing around Hawaii, with an additional 4-5 days sailing time across the Pacific.  Departures from Honolulu, Vancouver, and Ensenada, Mexico (just south of San Diego).  These one-way cruises operate for limited times during the year, and are basically repositioning cruises as the cruise fleet seasonally sails between their Caribbean and Alaskan cruise schedules.

  • Fly – Drive – Stay Packages

If a cruise does not fit, remember we also offer a full selection of fly/drive/hotel packages in all price ranges.  From economy to luxury, one island or multiple islands, we provide clients with the best pricing.  Please see our “Vacation Packages” page on this website for details.
